DESCRIPTION: EPW - A. Lange, Dresden, quality 1A, 52mm, heavy 18K gold drum style original HC with "CWS" marking in cameo for retailer Charles William Schumann of New York, front with initials, gold cuvette, bow with chain guards, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement with gold escape wheel and pallet, 20-21J, gilt mvt, s#9841 with matching serial number within case. Comes with a fitted A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte, leather box and certificate for a watch of later vintage. Gross weight of assembled watch 85.4 dwt (132.8 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few micro-fine scratches, steelwork with some small bits of oxide, one case screw is a replacement with a smaller sized head and a spacer inserted underneath; dial with small chip to right rim of center hole, small fracture above center, hl at 5:30, small edge chip under bezel at setting lever area; excellent hands; case shows little wear, small patch of abrasion at upper perimeter near shoulder, some abrasion to band between 10 and 12, some dings to rear, nick to left perimeter of front, good engraving detail, bezel with some crudely filed enlargement of its lever-set slot; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal. Box of later vintage in excellent cosmetic condition, some small bits of finish loss at exterior corners, interior with extra mainspring and crystals under compartment covers.
